HOBY Offers Opportunities for Optimists

In addition to schools, HOBY's COOPERATING organizations may register high school sophomores for the annual leadership seminar.

Some of the Optimists have taken advantage of this opportunity to nominate family members and other admirable young people they know.  This includes from the Route 66 OC--Becky Davis, Sandie Archuleta, and Erlinda Hourigan--and from NWOC--Robert Martinez.  Both the HOBY Alums and our Optimists are really grateful for having taken that opportunity.

The process of registering an Optimist Club member's Ambassador differs from the school registering a student.  Here's the procedure:

1.  Complete the HOBY Student Worksheet for Registration--download, print, and fill it in.

2.  Contact Rose Santini, New Mexico's Director of National Programs--santinir@hoby.org--or phone: (818) 851-3980 x 308.  She will register your student, and let you know the next steps.

HOBY-NM has added a form (HOBY-NM Student Application) for registered students.  The information requested will be really useful to their organizing committee.  Here's the link for that information.

While we don't yet have specifics on HOBY-NM 2017, the GOLDEN buttons below provide some basic information for school people, families, service clubs, and future HOBYs.

School Registration Process for Your High Schools

The usual process for registering a high school sophomore is pretty simple:

1.  Complete the HOBY Student Worksheet for Registration--download, print, and fill it in.

2.  The student's school administrator/counselor goes online (link: HOBY School Registration) and completes the registration process.

To complete the online registration, the counselor/administrator will need the Student Worksheet for Registration and the school's ID and password.  If the school personnel are uncertain of the school's ID and password, they may contact the HOBY-NM Recruitment Director Ashley Duchesneau: recruitment@hobynm.org.

HOBY-NM has added an Application form (HOBY-NM Student Application) for registered students.  The information requested will be really useful to the HOBY-NM organizing committee.

With a new, truly wonderful website, New Mexico's site team springs into action for the students and volunteers participating in this years Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar.

Check out the new website--gorgeous, professional, slick--at the old address:  hobynm.org.  Most importantly, the GORGEOUS website has the critical information for schools, parents, students, AND supporters.
